My father is John Michael Dooley, born December 23, 1963. His father was William Frederick Dooley born April 4, 1920, originally from Poultney, Vermont. His father was William Francis Dooley born February 2, 1886 of Poultney, Vermont. His father was Michael May 10, 1840 born in Ireland (1840). He was naturalized in 1867. We haven't been able to trace where in Ireland he came from. If anyone has any information please let me know. Thanks!

I just found this website by accident. I'm a second generation American. My grandfather Matthew James Dooley came from Mirehill in Galway. I understand there are a lot of Dooley 's in that part of Ireland too. Would love to hear from any Dooley's from Mirehill Headford, County Galway Slán go fóíll Goodby for now

Dearest Dooley Cousins, great to connect to y'all via this site! My brother Kevin and I are second-generation US Dooleys. Our grandfather George Frederick Dooley (the family called him Freddy) emigrated to the US from Liverpool and settled in NYC around 1920. He was last heard of when he and our grandmother Maud, also a Liverpool emigre, divorced around 1939 or 1940. George F and Maud's children are George and Doreen, born in the '30s and happily alive and well now in Florida, where Dad and Aunt Doreen settled in the late '40s. We were fortunate to meet our cousins, the descendents of George F's brothers and sisters, in England in 2006. My great-grandparents are Joseph and Mary Dooley of Liverpool. Joseph's father was William Dooley and his father was Joseph Dooley, who worked in the silk industry in Macclesfield. I am convinced that our line goes back to Ireland, but I've reached a dead end with our g-g-g-grandfather Joseph, who was born around Macclesfield in around 1820ish. If any of you have any info I'd be forever grateful! I think we Dooleys share intelligence and above all a wicked sense of humor.
